David Carson

David Carson

David Carson was born in 1954 September 8th in Corpus Christi, Texas.

David Carson doesn't use type conventionally. He doesn't was any guide likes when he starts to work on the page. He uses text to evoke emotions.

His main images are blurry and out of focus. He does this to create mystery in his images. His images relate to the audience because that’s how they would take themselves

The colour he uses is very bold and saturated to suit the sun drenched atmosphere which relates to the trendy pop culture. His exaggeration colour makes life more intense and exciting.

He uses open areas to empty space to contrast the crowded and confusing areas of text and images. This creates balance, giving the eye a place to rest.

The composition of his images is either dark or light and they all have typography in them. The text in normally over lapping the main image or other text that creates layers and makes the image more complicated and busy.

David was influenced by the environment around him. He says that the ocean had a big influence on his work.

His design philosophy is the design is intended to be emotional, to convey feelings and attitude through the contents. He says that design should always be more then mere design.

His most significant design element is typography. He uses it to create images and to capture the reader in the image.
